New ILAS Conference in Cyprus

Dear members of ILAS,

On the past 12th and 13th of October, we gathered in Limassol, Cyprus, a city situated at the crossroads of three continents, serving as the backdrop for the latest and unforgettable ILAS Conference.

Limassol, with its Mediterranean climate, welcomed us with its warm breeze and historical charm. This coastal city, nestled between the ancient cities of Amathus and Kourion, offered us an intriguing introduction to the rich cultural heritage of the island.

The ILAS Conference in Cyprus led us on an unforgettable intellectual journey. From the moment we registered and enjoyed a warm welcome coffee, it was evident that we were about to embark on a world of top-tier knowledge and networking.

Our host, Panicos Hassapis from Hassapis & Co (Accountants Auditors) Ltd, welcomed us and set the stage for a series of masterful presentations. Giacomo Pomati, from Studio Associato Pomati Schiavi Manera in Italy, introduced us to the "Balanced Scorecard"as a tool for business continuity. Jeremy Boyle, from Summit Law LLP in the United Kingdom, enlightened us about "The Enforcement of European Judgements in England & Wales." Merle von Moock, from Lang & Rahmann Rechtsanwälte PartG mbB in Germany, provided us with a practical example of "The Meaningful Use of Mediation Techniques." Lastly, Andrea Lazzaretti, from Studio Legale Rinaldi e Associati in Italy, shed light on "Crisis and Insolvency as Business Opportunities."
Each presentation delved deep into its respective field, offering valuable insights and enriching our experiences.

Of course, it wasn't all work. Leisure activities allowed us to relax and enjoy the beauty of Cyprus. From spending time on the beach to exploring other organized activities, every moment was an opportunity for enjoyment.

On the first evening, we dined at Forsos Tavern, located in the picturesque village of Moutayiaka. Here, we savored authentic Cypriot cuisine. Traditional meze dishes transported us to the island's rich culinary history.
On the second evening, Pyxida Fish Tavern, at Limassol Marina, made us feel like we were dining in the middle of the sea. Fresh seafood and breathtaking views created an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

The ILAS Conference in Cyprus seamlessly blended enriching learning with moments of relaxation and enjoyment, all in a unique and exciting environment. We extend our gratitude to everyone involved in making this experience possible and eagerly anticipate our next ILAS meeting.

Farewell, Cyprus!
